WALK REPORT Photos from a circuit we did at New Years on the Seven Sisters cliffs. It was a cold, drab day but it felt good to be out nonetheless. A big group this time: myself, Londoners Anne and Ross, Sally and Simon from Brighton, Si’s brother Martin from Tokyo, and Yoshi and Yuka from Orange County, California. Very few photos today it wasn’t the best weather for it, and anyway we didn’t make it out to the cliffs until the sun had set. 16 pics in this set. [back to the walk profile]

October Sun on the Seven Sisters
WALK REPORT Photos from our most recent visit to Seaford and the White Cliffs of the Seven Sisters last Saturday. This time out it was just me and Joe, Dorry‘s brother. The day was crystal clear and we came home sunburnt – not bad for mid-autumn at latitude 50° North. 33 shots in this set. As always, your comments are welcome. Thanks! — DW [walk profile]

Photos from the edge of England
… are coming shortly. Tune in tomorrow for pics from our Sunday outing to the White Cliffs. [walk profile]
Christopher and Keitlin filming the Seven Sisters cliffs, near Cuckmere Haven in Sussex, on the south coast of England. It was a windy day!

Lessons in Hill-Rolling: The Movie
This is a short clip from our White Cliffs Walk of last Sunday. We stopped for a picnic lunch on Exceat Hill, which is a very steep, grassy hill near the Seven Sisters cliffs. After lunch, Rupert and Mattie tried to do a two-person roll down the hill, while hanging onto each other’s ankles.
23 June UPDATE: Welcome to readers coming in from external sites. If you like the video, please do leave a comment.
After the movie, take a moment to check out the rest of this site – just browse some of the “Recent entries” on the right to see pics from our latest adventures. Thanks! — DW

Seven Sisters Sunday, June 17th
WALK REPORT These pictures were taken yesterday on our walk to see the Seven Sisters cliffs near Seaford (aka the White Cliffs Walk). Route was Seaford – Cuckmere Haven – Exceat – Westdean – Friston Forest – East Dean – Crowlink – Seven Sisters – Exceat. A fine day, an amazing picnic lunch, and a lesson in hill-rolling from Rupert. I’m going to put a montage of the day’s photos first. Scroll down to see the bigger images (22 in all).
These were some of the day’s better pictures!
White Cliffs preview
Full photo stream coming tomorrow, but here’s a random shot taken on our walk on the Seven Sisters cliffs earlier today. [walk profile]

White Cliffs, May 21st
WALK REPORT Here are a few photos from the walk I did last Monday near the Seven Sisters – a line of white chalk cliffs on the south coast of England, where the hills of the South Downs meet the English Channel. It was a dreary day, not a great one for photography – hope to have some better shots next time around!
Route: Exceat – Westdean – Friston Forest – East Dean (Tiger Inn) – Crowlink – Seven Sisters – Cuckmere Haven – Exceat [walk profile]
The flintstone facing on this cottage in Westdean village is characteristic of this region of Southeast England.
All Saints chapel in Westdean, completely deserted on a wet Monday afternoon.
Inside All Saints chapel. What is the proper name of the cloth hanging behind the carved wooden eagle lectern?
